  • Rip has an amazing fleece! It cannot be appreciated on him near as much as when it is on the table. His intermediate fleece is a Supreme Champion fleece, validated by the quality of opposition he defeated.

Great density, superb amplitude, cool handle, lovely style, decent fineness - what more could you ask for? He is a next-gen sire.

    Bloodline

His sire is Rustic Dawn Yahudi, a very well performed campaigner in the show ring and a producer of multiple Supreme Champions, including Rip. Yahudi's sire is the multiple Supreme Champion - Algoma Chaska. His dam is Alkmaar Aurelia, also a very well performed female in the show-ring with an amazing junior fleece. She descends from the Homestead Farm stud with a double-dose of Benleigh Debut ET (the dam of National Supreme Champion - Homestead Farm Apollo) in her pedigree.

    Showing

Rip has performed very well in the show ring from a junior onwards. He has a multiple broad ribbons and defeated the National Intermediate male champion consistently after the 2020 Nationals. But it is in the fleece tent that Rip has really excelled. Supreme Champion at the Mackenzie Show 2021 defeating many top quality fleeces from many top studs. This is the only showing thus far for his intermediate fleece but it will get one more outing at a major show. His third fleece is even denser with almost the same style. It will also be shown at a major show. His fleece really has to be seen on the table to appreciate the amplitude and quality with many merino breeders commenting it is the most merino-like alpaca fleece they have seen.

  • 3rd Fleece: 18.8mic 3.8sd 99.6%cf 41.0crv
  • Rip is holding his fineness quite nicely! Certainly his style remains through to shearing on his 3rd fleece but it is the amplitude which sets Rip apart from most all other alpaca fleeces. It may also be a factor in his great density. Astute alpaca breeders will realise that great fleeces are more likely to produce great progeny. We are a fleece industry after all.

    Progeny

To be determined but we have no doubt whatsoever they will be outstanding!
