Xena is a lovely female with beautiful conformation, well-related and a very good fleece style (for a black). She just has a wonderful look to her and boasts some interesting and varied genetics not usually available in black. Xena is offered for sale having recently been mated to our newest star stud male Bemersyde Estate Bronson.

Bloodlines

Her sire is Rustic Dawn Yahudi, a multiple broad ribbon winning son of the multiple Supreme Champion Algoma Chaska. He has only sired 2 cria for us so far, the other being RD Iolaus, aleady a multiple broad ribbon winner.

Her dam is Rustic Dawn Lycarish, a black female who also performed well at shows including a placing (2nd of 6) at Colourbration as a junior. She boasts the genetics of Somerset Accoyo Challenger and Cedar House Woolmaker on her sires side and strong Pejo black genetics on her mothers side. Lycarish is a sister to our Champion Grey (Winchester 2017) RD Storm Cloud and our very promising young roan RD Viking Princess (1 show, 1 class victory)

She was only shown 2 times earning a scond and third at Waimate and Rangiora respectively, both in classes of 4.

Fleece

Xena has very reasonable structure and style to her fleece and there is a lot of it but she is not fine. That is the reason she is for sale at such a low price. It is also the reason she has been mated to Bemersyde Estate Bronson. At 17.8 micron on his 4th fleece we would be hopeful of him passing on his retained fineness to her cria, preferably in black or at least a darker colour. Bronson has darker points and some colour (including black) in his background, so fingers crossed. Even if the resultant cria is not black it could then be mated back to black.
